Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, America’s Deadliest Sniper, Fatally Shot

America has lost a national treasure in an unimaginable tragedy. Retired Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, whose amazing story was told in his autobiography “American Sniper: The Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History,” was shot and killed yesterday at a shooting range in Texas. Details are sketchy at this time, but the alleged shooter is in custody, and is reportedly a former USMC corporal that Chris was helping to overcome his struggles with PTSD. Also killed was Chris’ neighbor Chad Littlefield, who had accompanied them to the range.

Chris Kyle was a man of courage and conviction, principled and humble. His loss is a tragedy for America, and for all who love freedom, but especially for his family, who waited and worried while he completed four combat tours in Iraq. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris’ wife and two children, the rest of his family, the family of Chad Littlefield, the family of alleged shooter Eddie Routh, and the greater Navy SEAL family.

RIP, Hero.
